Champions Hockey League

The Champions Hockey League (CHL) was conceptualized and brought to life in 2008 in partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation by Mindspring group company Ovation Sports. We conceptualized and delivered all aspects of the project, assembled an investor group, sold the broadcast and sponsorship rights and managed all PR and communication. The new CHL quickly established itself as a success with fans and media around the world thanks to our innovative approach to the brand and presentation of the sport on the ice, in the arena, on the web, on TV and in print.

Victoria Cup

The Victoria Cup is another Mindspring/Ovation Sports original creation that features the Champions Hockey League winner (European club champion) against the National Hockey League (NHL) of North America in an annual showdown of East vs. West. The first two editions of the Victoria Cup have attracted worldwide attention and delivered excellent value to our sponsor and broadcast partners. In 2008 the NY Rangers narrowly defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk of Russia in the final seconds and in 2009 defending CHL Champion Zürich Lions defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, marking the first NHL defeat to a European club in over 20 years.

UFL Football League

Mindspring provides a full range of services to the UAE Football League including; Brand, TV, licensing & commercial consultancy, competition & commercial guidelines development, venue operating procedures, match organization, on-site venue management, broadcaster service, and sponsor rights delivery. Our mandate is to establish ‘best practices’ in the region and to ensure the UFL’s compliance with new AFC regulations for participation in the AFC Champions League.

National Beach Soccer

Mindspring in cooperation with BRC Group of San Francisco have secured a 10 year relationship with Beach Soccer Worldwide for the marketing and event rights to the sport within the USA and Canada. Beach Soccer North America was officially established in May 2010 and will act as the organizational agency that will deliver the newly formed National Beach Soccer Pro Tour, Amateur Open and Elite Program. BSNA will also administer and raise funds for the Beach Soccer Foundation fighting again skin cancer and working to preserve and protect beaches around the world.

Euro Experience Tour

One year prior to the Euro 2008, co-hosted by Switzerland and Austria, UEFA launched an innovative multi-media showcase that was to be delivered in a highly unique way. Mindspring was appointed as project manager handling all aspects of the show logistics and delivery. During the 6 month tour nearly 500,000 fans witnessed the 25 min “Imax-style” in 13 different cities – all from inside the largest inflatable domes ever created for a touring event at 60m x 40m x 14m high.

IAAF Golden League Project

The IAAF retained Mindspring to conduct a feasibility study regarding the restructure of the IAAF Golden League series of events. Mindspring developed several groundbreaking concepts to make the one-day athletics meeting more meaningful, exciting and marketable. The results of the study were adopted at the IAAF Council meeting during the Beijing Olympics and subsequently put into practice with the formation of the new IAAF Diamond League that starts in summer 2010.

Homeless World Cup

Conceived in 2001, the Homeless World Cup is a unique and inspiring World Cup tournament that takes homeless people off the streets in 50 nations and re-builds their confidence and self-esteem through street soccer. Mindspring is proud to have supported this amazing project in 2006 by leading the HWC re-brand process that resulted in their current logo as well as re-structuring the HWC’s commercial and event delivery
